Actualitica Podcast #11 – Fatmir Alispahić: The Bosniak–Croat Alliance as the Key to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Survival

In the 11th episode of the Actualitica Podcast, our guest is one of the most respected Bosnian writers, publicists, and journalists, and the host of the hugely popular show Defter HefteFatmir Alispahić.

The theme of the podcast is Bosnia and Herzegovina – its past, present, and future. Mr. Alispahić faces constant and very serious threats to his life and the lives of his family members. He explains the current situation regarding these threats, whether he has police protection, and whether he receives support from any Bosnian political figures. Our distinguished guest also reveals the true background behind the prayers performed by Muslim women in Široki Brijeg and other areas of Bosnia and Herzegovina with a Croat majority. He clearly explains why the solution for Bosnia and Herzegovina and for the Bosniak people is not the creation of three ethnic entities. He goes into detail about why establishing a Bosniak (Muslim) republic — the so-called “Fildžanistan,” supported by the SDA, parts of the Islamic Community, Turkey, and Iran — in the area between Sarajevo, Zenica, and Tuzla would amount to a ghetto and a path toward the destruction of both the Bosniaks and the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

What is the difference between Alija and Bakir Izetbegović? Is Milorad Dodik’s political career coming to an end? How does Alispahić view the work of the “Trojka” coalition at the federal and state levels? Why has he occasionally praised Nermin Nikšić? How is it possible that Željko Komšić, despite lacking competence, is still celebrated among large segments of the Bosniak population? Why do conflicts between Bosniaks and Croats benefit only Republika Srpska and the Greater-Serbian political agenda? Is Bosnia and Herzegovina important to the international community? What does he think about the possibility of restructuring the entire country on federalist principles and abolishing the RS and FBiH entities? Is it even possible to abolish the RS entity? And is it true that even cleaning staff in public companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina are hired only with political approval?

Answers to these and many other questions are provided by one of the leading experts on the political and social realities of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This episode is absolutely worth watching!
